1. Every time I go to San Diego, I think of Buck-O-Nine. Who is your quintessential L.A. band?
I’d say the Dickies and the Circle Jerks.
2. What is your role with Side One Dummy, and are there any releases we should look out for in 2010?
I am in charge of Publicity and Advertising here. In 2010 we have a new Flogging Molly double CD and DVD called Live At The Greek Theatre. We have a local LA singer/songwriter named Audra Mae. She is a mix between Norah Jones and Patsy Cline. Her album, The Happiest Lamb is set for May 11th.
3. Did you hear about the Specials reunion?
Yea, I read it in a British mag. Exciting for sure. We did their first reunion tour in ’96. That was really fun. Although Terry Hall and Jerry Dammers weren’t there (kinda weird). I would love to see the complete OG line-up do it right! With Rico and everything!
4. What’s your favorite restaurant in LA?
The Geisha House on Sunset. The best sushi.
5. Who are you listening to these days?
The latest Rancid album gets a lot of spins in my corner of the office. Also, Chris Wollard and the Ship Thieves. I listen to Audra Mae everyday too.
6. My favorite Buck-O-Nine song is She’s Fat, what’s yours?
Haha, that’s a good one. It makes me laugh out loud to think of that song where we were at in life when we wrote that one. That must’ve been in ’91. In fact I think I wrote some of those lyrics in High School back in ’89. Haha!
My favorite Buck-O-Nine song is Jennifer’s Cold.
7. When will Buck-O-Nine be back in LA?
Not sure about that one. Most likely this summer.
